Wedding Cake Pricing

When shopping for a wedding cake and considering price keep these things in mind :

The cake professionals time usually begins with a consultation and tasting for the bride.  Once the cake is booked, it involves securing information about when and were the reception is, when the cake professional may set up, possibly contacting and talking with your florist to coordinate the flowers, and reserving the proper stand for your style of cake. Next there is not only the baking, but depending upon the type of decoration chosen,  it could require several days of preparation, followed by the actual icing, layering, support system configuring and decorating of the cake. After that there is the assembly, delivery and set-up to be done.

No shortening in my buttercream icing - only real butter, real vanilla,

Many factors influence wedding cake price, a few common examples are:

type of filling or no filling at all

whether or not the cake will be covered in fondant

type of cake, i.e. light layer or rich pound cake, carrot cake etc..

Fresh flowers and the amount needed or handmade gumpaste flowers

amount of labor required to create chosen design

liquor soaked layers

These are a few of the most common things which push the price per serving up or down.

Exact Wedding cake prices are not quoted over the phone or internet as wedding cake details, designs, flavors, fillings and sizes are more accurately and  succinctly handled in person during a consultation.


Cakes are not considered booked and date is not held until 50% deposit is made and contract is signed.

Basic Free consultations are available for Brides. We do not do free tastings for other events.


A note about FRESH!

Fresh! Fresh as in custom made to order....and only when ordered. This means very high quality and amazing flavor. It means items can be tailored to your exact preferences. It means my pastries and cakes are in a class of their own. However, it also means no product laying around in a fridge or freezer. No product to fill a last minute order. It means if you call me and ask for “anything I have that day” the answer is nothing. Nothing unless you placed a custom order for it previously and I have made it fresh, just for you. I purchase ingredients for your order, after you place the order. I do not keep ingredients just sitting around. I buy fresh ingredients and I bake fresh for every order. The difference is worth it. The difference stands out in the first bite you take.

It’s a difference that I believe in,  it does mean I cannot have all flavors available all the time  for tastings,  it does take more effort, it does require some sacrifices on my part, but it benefits my customers and once you taste it you’ll understand - the difference is worth it.



        Pricing and General Information for all cakes:


Cupcakes begin at 2.00 each for basic flavors without fillings.

1.00 each for mini-cupcakes (bite size).


Sheet cakes begin at 2.25 per serving (non-decorated “back-up cakes”) like some couples choose to have in back for extra wedding servings.


Double layer simply decorated cakes begin at 2.75 per serving for layer cake and 3.00 for pound cake, not including fillings.


Stacked cakes (designs needing a support system where one cake is stacked on top of another) begin at 3.50 per serving for vanilla layer cake or 3.85 for pound cake. Fondant is 1.00 extra per serving.


3D cakes which require the most amount of labor begin at 5.00 per serving and can run double (10.00 per serving or more) depending on amount of detail and difficulty.


Edible images are 9.00 per 8.5”x11” sheet.


50% deposit is required to book cake and hold date and is non-refundable and non-transferrable. Cakes are not booked and date is not held until deposit is received.


Cakes must be paid in full one month before event or upon booking if booking date is closer than one month away from event date.


Handmade Sugar flowers must be booked at least 2 months in advance.


We cannot replicate materials with a copy write  i.e. cartoon characters.


minimum order for a decorated cake is $150.00


10” Bundt Cakes start at $25.00 undecorated.


Shortbread cookies generally run between $2.00 to $5.00 each.


Cash accepted in person OR checks /credit cards via paypal up to 1 week in advance.



Silver/ Brass cake plateaus may be rented to show case your cake for an additional rental fee and equipment deposit.


Wedding cakes :

Wedding Cakes begin at $3.75 per serving

For an additional fee we offer a professional cake cutter who will arrive 30 minutes prior to your event and watch over your cake throughout the event, as well as be available for any questions or concerns, at cake cutting time they will cut and serve your cake and pack up and return our equipment to the bakery eliminating the need for equipment deposits and making your life easier!

tier 1 begin at 2.00 each

tier 2 begin at 2.50 each

tier 3 begin at 2.75 each


At an additional cost cupcakes may be filled with your choice of filling and/or lightly soaked with liquor syrup, see cupcake page for more information.


Cupcake examples

Tier one  pricing(example - vanilla cake, vanilla icing no fancy piping just basic)

Tier two pricing(example carrot cake with cream cheese icing)

Tier three pricing(example lemon cake w/ lemon curd filling & vanilla icing)

+ Example of something more expensive - cinnamon cake filled with homemade apple filling, iced in cream cheese, drizzled with caramel and sprinkled with toasted pecans.


Hopefully this gives an idea of how much the price and product can vary depending on what you would like to order.

the prices are about $1.00 too low per serving for current pricing levels as she retired from baking cakes a few years ago and moved to teaching decorating instead. However, the pricing helps you see cost differences based on design differences.
