Executive Pastry Chef Katie Blackwell-Martin has over ten years of Baking and Pastry Experience. She has worked at five star five diamond resorts, elite country clubs and award winning restaurants. She is a graduate of Baltimore International College who has trained with both French and German Pastry Chefs and was originally an art major prior to becoming a pastry chef. Katiebelle’s won the Rheem Extreme cake challenge in 2009. Studied with top sugar artist in the world Nicholas Lodge and Cake artist Colette Peters at the Advanced Wedding Cake Design course taught at the World Pastry Forum in  2008.   Katie also won BEST DESSERT in the Charlotte NC, Youth homes Inc. Catering Competition in March of 2007, as well as a silver medal in 2006.  She creates custom 3D cakes, wedding cakes, birthday cakes, cupcakes, mousse cakes, pastries, and more! Katie uses string work, lace work, handmade gum paste flowers, intricate piping techniques, icing appliques, stencils, hand painting, airbrushing, and numerous other cake decorating techniques to create custom one of a kind cakes.
